The History and Purpose of Annwfn

Established in 1982 by the Church of All Worlds, Annwfn was founded as a sacred sanctuary for Pagan worship, spiritual practice, and community connection. Located on 55 acres in Mendocino County, California, the property preserves a natural setting dedicated to Earth-centered spirituality and reverence for the living world.

The sanctuary’s landscape includes forested trails, ritual circles, a Goddess garden, and the Mushroom Temple, handcrafted by Mage and Bard Gwydion Penderwyn and his friends. These spaces reflect Annwfn’s enduring commitment to honoring nature and celebrating Pagan traditions.

Today, Annwfn continues its founding mission by welcoming visitors for retreats, camping, seasonal observances, and community gatherings. It remains a place for spiritual renewal, fellowship, and the continued practice of Earth-centered traditions.
